7 year old, parents report an increase in his emotional dysregulation and concerning behavior over the past 3 monts. Over the past few weeks he begun to show signs of withdrawal and reported seeing things others cant see, particulary during itense episode of anger or frustration. they are concerned that this might signify a shift towards a more psychotic mental health issue, such as a psychotic disorder. Current receiving therapy and medication for mood stabilization
Patient presents as anxious and irritable during the interview. he avoids eye contact and fidgets with his hands. Discribes hallucination of shadowy figures that make him angry. Patient displays age appropriate cognative functioning but strugles to irticulate his feelings without being agitated
Family dynamic are tense with frequent arguments between parents.his father has stuggled with depression. friends report patient talks about things that are not there, leading to social isolation
diagnostic consideration is DMDD
MEDICATION; Prozac Present the full case. Include chief complaint; history of present illness; any pertinent past psychiatric, substance use, medical, social, family history; most recent mental status exam; and current psychiatric diagnosis including differentials that were ruled out.
