The development of the built environment through the construction of buildings and infrastructure has been central to the debate on sustainable development. Typically, these definitions in construction have focussed on the environmental dimension of sustainability. The 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer new opportunities for the built environment sector to expand its focus. In this context, examine sustainable development through the lens of construction, and the role companies have in addressing sustainable development and on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
