About me:
1st generation college graduate as well as a immigrant from South Korea. Lived a year in homeless shelters during middle school due to financial hardships and difficulties my single mother was facing raising two children. Last semester of my senior year in college, I had opportunity to study abroad in Malawi for 3 weeks (one of the poorest countries in the world) and saw lack of healthcare. I then decided I wanted to help others, graduated 3 months later and enrolled myself back in school to become a nurse. I did L&D rotation at UCSF mission bay campus and preceptorship at UCSF Parnassus campus on 15L. I also gave birth at UCSF mission bay campus so UCSF holds a lot of memories to me. I’ve always wanted to work at UCSF and it’s my top choice hospital. I never knew I wanted to work with children until I did my pediatric rotation at Sutter Health hospital and found myself loving every moment of it and being drawn to the tiny humans. Maybe it’s because I have a child of my own but I genuinely want to help them.
